Expanding My Training Skills

Hello everyone,

Going into the new year as a qualified IMDT trainer has been very exciting and so far this year has been great! I've had my last set of classes at Laycock Village Hall and have decided to make the move to a much bigger outdoor venue to be able to offer bigger and better classes. I've been planning new courses and improving courses I've given in the past. This means that I've also been practicing lots of fun things with Badger.

For so long, pretty much all I worked on with Badger was all about improving her quality of life, giving her coping skills to deal with everyday life, helping her to be more comfortable around new people and dogs (and even gain some friends), that it's nice to be able to focus on learning some things just for fun too.

Some of the things we've been working on over the last couple of weeks (all through positive reinforcement of course)...

Sit Pretty

Paws Up

Middle

And today, we haven't been able to get out for a walk because of the snow so we've been practicing our Settle. Settle is a good one for us humans because we can sit and have a cuppa while we're practicing!

Settle

I love teaching Badger new things and learning along with her, and it really helps to build her confidence. She helps me put my courses together because we practice everything I teach in my classes, and it's a great bonding activity for us. For March I am bringing back the new and improved Calm Collie Club for 2022, as well as a Recall and Lead Skills course. For more details and to book a place, head to the Dog Training page or get in touch with me on 07592 302112.

Thank you for reading,

Molly. X
